the television vill not be revolutionized
Flip Cassidy, artist. East Jesus, Slab City, Salton Sea, California. East Jesus gets it’s name from a slang term that was used in the Midwest back in the day where a person would describe really off the beaten path as being East Jesus. It lays at the outskirts of Slab City, the last free place in America, a campsite without electricity or running water where live a community of people who escape modern society. Many are destitute. Others just don’t want to be found.
According to their website:
Together, the inhabitants of East Jesus provide a refuge for artists, musicians, survivalists, writers, scientists, laymen and other wandering geniuses.
We are dedicated to providing a working model of an improbable improvised community at the edge of the world.
We are most interested in low-tech solutions, unresolved theories, non-linear advancement, and creative reuse.
