In Rwanda, notwithstanding the huge accomplishments the country has performed since the Genocide that happened in 1994, the supply of clean water is still an issue. According to the latest Government Report, 9.4% of people have clean water access in their homes and 39% of people have to walk more than 15 minutes to reach a clean water source.<br />
Seeing people carrying their yellow jerry can and going to fetch water from a water pump or well is a common sight even in the capital, Kigali.<br />
In these image kids are collecting water from the water pump because when the photos were shot it was school holidays, otherwise women are the ones that provide water for the family. It is heart lifting seeing these kids seemingly enjoying doing this otherwise tedious task.
